Title: SAN Specialist - WORK FROM HOME
Job Description:
Employee will be responsible for NAS and SAN storage allocations. On-call rotation and storage allocation trouble shooting.
Day to day tasks include:
-Storage and SAN as well as NAS, Capacity Planning and systems design for Open Systems
-Storage and SAN as well as NAS Performance and Tuning for Open Systems
-Unix O/S and/or Windows Certification and experience to trouble shoot and work with system administrators and clients
-EMC ECC/OE experience
-EMC and SUN/HDS Storage Administration experience using Hi Command and Storage Navigator
-Manage TAGMA Storage based tool from HDS
-Manage and configure Storage of different types of storage; EMC Symm5, DMX, Clariion, SUN 9980V, HDS AMS 500
-Manage switch types of Brocade and McData
-Manage EMC NAS Celerra
-Manage N-Series rebranded NetApps NAS
-Manage the technology refresh of storage, switches, NAS heads of Celerra and N-Series
Education requirements:
4 year college degree or equiv work experience
Core Skills needed:
-BM NAS NETAPP
-EMC NAS Celerra
-SYM storage -
-HDS/SUN 9980 and 9990 storage -
Software support included
-EMC Symcli command language
-EMC Cellerra GUI interface and EMC Connectrix Manager
-Storage Navigator
-HiCommand Device Manager
-UNIX OS
-O/S certification and experience in a Unix or Windows environment to do both trouble shooting on the O/S for storage and for performance management on the host.
-Storage configuration on hosts experience of SAN and NAS to Windows and/or Unix hosts
-A self starter with the ability to self train as most of this is learned from OJT and trouble shooting
-O/S configuration for NAS implementation of NAS heads
-Switch configuration background
-N-Series Suppport
-EMC Celerra Support
-SAN support using Hi Command and/or Storage Navigator
-EMC storage support knowledge with the ability to run Solutions Enabler software or ECC
