Our client is a world wide manufacturer of specialty products with a facility here in Rochester, NY. The successful candidate will provide administrative direction and support for the daily operational activities within the Corporate IT department and within the business units as well. Will work closely with the decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, execute, and support functional cost effective IT solutions. Reporting will be to the Corporate IT Director.
Experience/Qualifications:
. MCSE, MCP and A+ Hardware Certifications preferred.
. Experience in Windows Server 2003 network environment preferred.
. Minimum of three years in IT, or related, environment preferred.
. Application Support experience in Windows environment preferred.
. Excellent technical knowledge of current IT systems, networks, protocols and standards necessary.
. Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development preferred.
. Project Management experience preferred.

Summary of Position Manage a project management group comprised of project managers and business analysts. Responsible for project tracking of schedules, cost and performance for flagship and major discretionary projects for HBUS Mortgage. Coordinator for resource management, small system changes, project budget reporting and project status reporting within the project management, development and support teams. May take on large initiatives, generally through a project team in leading the planning, design, development, enhancement and maintenance of business systems or subsystems, and large budget, high-risk projects within assigned area of responsibility. Mentor for junior project managers. Collaborate with other managers within the team to assess project viability and recommends strategies and tactics to satisfy customer needs. Collaborate with HSBC Mortgage customers, staff, IT colleagues and other stakeholders to identify business needs/requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits and recommend solutions. II. Principal Accountabilities 1. Manage assigned personnel and large, high-risk projects and functions within the Mortgage Applications Systems department including the functions of applications development, business analysis, research and development, and systems integration for business systems. 2. Manage all aspects of systems analysis, design, development, installation, maintenance and enhancement for mission-critical application systems for assigned area of responsibility. Ensure schedules, cost and performance are balanced, and technical standards, business and quality objectives are met. 3. Direct project staff assignment. Monitor and evaluates project leader performance to ensure completion according to plans. Coordinate development of application software to expand data views across multiple systems and platforms and integrate applications. Direct technology, productivity and performance initiatives and drives complex technical activities. Work with Corporate and Group entities to define and deliver domestic and global systems development projects. Maintain the application infrastructure ensuring applications are fully operational, secure, positioned to meet business initiatives and are recoverable. 4. Improve the delivery process of products through the use of a structured methodology. Create and utilizes QA testing environments that duplicate production of all systems. Enforce all phases of the development cycle with an emphasis on design code walk through rehearsals across TS groups for all implementations. Monitor productivity and quality of deliverables and drives use of Group standards; assists in setting technical policy and direction. 5. Recommend the use of outside contract resources and administers selected contracts to assure performance. 6. Build strong partnerships with internal customers to add value and extend the traditional model of services. Raise the overall corporate perception of the technology services organization through efforts that increase key focal point ratings supplied by business partners. May manage overseas development staff for outsourced needs. Identifies opportunities to improve established systems, strategies and architecture and expand derived benefits. Develop and applies logical and physical blueprints that align with established strategy. 7. Assist, as needed, in the development of the strategic technical architecture in partnership with the business or staff department. Provide consultation to line managers and businesses supported relative to technology issues. Ensure technical infrastructure and direction support business initiatives. 8. Keep informed on technical and professional developments affecting area of responsibility and advises department and division management on new developments. Maintain awareness of business strategies and emerging technologies to provide high quality, state of the art, technical solutions which support business goals and technical strategies. 9. Ensure compliance monitoring and internal controls are in place, including processes for management of operational risk, in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards. 10. PMI certification desired. * The ability to lead, motivate and develop personnel; strong people and team management skills particularly with project and cross functional teams; a working knowledge of information systems technology; proficiency in multiple technical disciplines, analytics and quality assurance techniques; an understanding of businesses supported. * An awareness of mortgage and IT Industry trends, competitive pressures and products, risk assessment methodology, and their application to business and technical aspects of business initiatives. * The ability to apply technologies to business initiatives, influence strategic direction, and identify and apply productivity improvements and expertise to business and technical aspects of processes being automated. * Mortgage experience desired. * Expertise in NIKU and Risk Based Project Management a plus.
