Java Development Manager in NEW YORK, NY

My Client is Seeking a Development Manager with 8-10 years of experience working with High Volume java-based web sites. They are looking for someon who bring a analytical and a strong, hands-on background in development. 
 
Responsibilities- 

 Provide leadership and mentoring to Engineering staff 
 Create and document the technical design to meet requirements
 Ownership and development of end-to-end projects using both Java backend and web technologies
 Participate in the creation of project plans, resource allocation and estimated timelines
 Strong attention to detail; passion for technology, challenging environments and excellence 
 Excellent communication skills a must 
 Interact with the business owners, product and quality assurance teams to set priorities and resolve defects, change requests and issues 
 Work with the following technologies: Java, Spring, JSP, MySQL, Tomcat, Lucene, Javascript, Ant/Ivy, CVS 
Experience: 6+ years experience as a developer including at least 2 years in a management capacity 
 Experience developing J2EE applications using both backend Java and web technologies, e.g. JavaScript, JSTL, AJAX 
 Strong communication skills 
 Ability to understand business needs and liaise with business owners 
 Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues
 Fluent in creating project plans and managing to them 
 Experience developing and deploying a production system on the Unix platform (Linux preferred) 
 Must know how to architect scalable, robust, highly available high performing web sites and have in-depth knowledge of web development methodologies, tools and techniques 
 Must have strong understanding of relational database concepts including SQL, indexes, transactions and writing software that communicates with a database 
 BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

SAP FI/CO Functional Lead in NEW YORK, NY

Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Functional Lead to manage the implementation and provide ongoing support for the clients global SAP rollout. The successful candidate will serve as the key point of contact for all Finance business users. Partnering with Finance business users, the Finance Solutions Project Leader will manage and implement Finance projects, manage the maintenance and support of Financial applications, and ensure a secure, error-free and efficient operations environment. 

Primary job functions will include:

 Create and maintain project plans for all Finance projects such as software customizations, upgrades, implementation of new modules, new business functions. 
 Enforce proper testing methodology & develop tests scripts in partnership with the key business users. 
 Define and apply the security policy related to these applications. 
 Extensively document all projects, processes and technical configurations. 
 Document the business processes and associated IT processes. 
 Provide management status reporting for all projects.

Cognos Developer in NEW YORK, NY

Cognos SDK, Web Services and OOP techniques 

 Knowledge of HTML scripting and Java development 

 Composite Server, portals/portlets, other Cognos components, and ability to configure and administer them

o Work with end users to develop reports using Cognos ReportNet and PowerPlay. 

o Help develop and ensure reporting standards across CSM applications. 

 General Support: 

o Design and implementation of the Cognos reporting infrastructure. 

o Resolve system problems as required. 

 Provide Cognos application expertise and training to software developers and fellow data warehouse team members as needed. 
Experience: EXPERIENCE: 
 
5+ years professional experience including: 

 Strong Cognos 8 development skills, report design and associated best practices 

 Expert with Cognos 8 Framework Manager modeling and techniques 

 Strong Cognos 8 performance analysis and tuning skills, and knowledge of associated best practices 

 Strong knowledge of Cognos 8 BI (Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, PowerPlay Studio), Cognos Controller, Cognos Planning 

 Experience with Cognos Office Connection and CAFÉ 

 Experience with full software development life-cycle 

 

 Knowledge on RDBMS such as MS SQL Server and database performance optimization and tuning as it pertains to reporting and analytic solutions 

 Knowledge of tools and techniques to troubleshoot and debug Cognos 8 issues 

 Knowledge of IIS/Tomcat configuration and optimization a plus 

 Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
