The CLIENT has completed the initial discussions about the scope of this project and the current understanding is that the work will be comprised of two (2) phases. In addition, the client understands the requirement is to fulfill a six (6) month staffing need:
Phase 1: Process Identification and Documentation
Candidate will assist CLIENT in the identification and documentation of both existing and non-existent network operations procedures and processes. These include but are not limited to:
. Monitoring
. Device Health
. Network Heath
. For Network attacks
. Site access
. Management of network devices to include:
. Routers
. Firewalls
. Switches
. Servers
. Databases (internal only)
. Response
. Monitoring system alerts
. Ticket system alerts
. Incoming calls
. Emails
. Actions
. Restarting processes on all devices
. Running back-up scripts and insuring their success
. Troubleshooting first level server issues.
. Removing troubled servers from load balancing (customer view)
. Escalations to proper teams to resolve issues.

A Senior Consultant possesses Mid-Level knowledge and experience in information security and/or relevant information technology best practices and standards with a heavy concentration on testing and evaluating technical controls.
Functional Responsibilities and Skills
. Ability to perform project tasks with little or no supervision.
. Contribute a significant piece of a project deliverable
. Able to create and recommend remediation for components of security policies
. Provide specific recommendations for a clients business or technical issues. (Example: Lack of or enforcement of a password policy.)
. Understanding of one or more regulatory areas including, but not limited to:
o ISO 17799/BS 7799
o GLBA
o HIPAA
o SOX
o CSIP/SDP
. Understands the creation, management, and oversight of Information Security Programs, Business Continuity Planning and Change Control functions for Information Services
. Excellent written and verbal communications.
Experience: Technical Responsibilities and Skills
. Deeper technical problem / resolution skills
. Mid-level infrastructure or security design capabilities for environments that include 10 to 20 security devices, processes or applications.
. Mid-level systems administration (UNIX, Windows, or mainframe)
Knowledge with different application architectures and platforms, their development challenges, their control configurations, and their inherent security strengths and weaknesses (e.g., ColdFusion, J2EE, .Net)
. Experience with scripting or coding in at least one language (Perl, C, C++, Java, XML);
. Mid-level network administration (thorough protocol experience)
. Mid-level security knowledge
o Application architecture / testing
o Wireless protection strategies (WAP, EAP, TLS, WTLS, 802.1X, etc)
o Internet attack anatomy
o Perimeter protection strategies
o Security Policy structure / development
o Forensics
. Mid-level methods knowledge of one of the following:
o Penetration testing

o Systems integration
Educational Requirements
. Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience;
