The ASP.NET developer will work on a small team to enhance applications based in VB.NET to increase their functionality and enhance their efficiency. This is a great opportunity for a junior ASP.NET or VB.NET developer to gain valuable experience in a mission critical production environment. Some SQL Server development experience is preferred but not required. Junior candidates are encouraged to apply.

Incumbents provide tactical management for infrastructure implementation projects, i.e., plan, organize, direct and control day-to-day activities of ACS and vendor engineering teams to ensure quality and on time/on budget deliveries. REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains project schedules to plan the work associated with the project. Provides for managing project resources during the project term.
Provides day to day direction of the project team to ensure success.
Maintenance of contract budget (actual/projected) records. Tracking ACS costs and performance.
Develops detailed cost models in response to customer requests.
Provides status reporting on project activities, including the compilation and reporting of project metrics.
Plans for project execution including risk planning, communications planning, quality management, issue management and cost control.
Purchasing equipment and supplies: conducting cost/benefit analyses, obtaining quotes, negotiates with vendors and initiating purchase orders for both task and overhead items.
Conducting/compiling/making special analyses, reports and presentations of budgets, performance, forecasts, etc., as required.
Introduction/implementation of administrative or financial control procedures, which improve the effective operation of the unit.
Participates in the introduction and implementation of overall ACS operating standards, practices, and procedures. Provides guidance to project support staff assigned to client locations. Establishes internal controls and monitors activities of staff to ensure operating quality. Coordinates project support for start-up and shutdown.
Plans goals and objectives for support staff and organizes personnel accordingly, including the scheduling/assignment of staff. Provides guidance to staff to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of same.
Acts as point of contact for other departments to resolve problems regarding project support and acts as in-house consultant. May contribute to specific proposal efforts and management level presentations.
May coordinate with project management to interviews, selects and supervises training of new employees. Administers and/or coordinates administration of performance evaluations and salary recommendations. Addresses employee relations and development issues for assigned personnel.
Keeps apprised of developments in field of expertise to ensure currency and makes recommendations to management to improve efficiency/effectiveness.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
6+ years progressively responsible experience providing related client/project/contract administrative support.
2+ years experience in successful task lead or supervisory role. Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of project management best practices as described in the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Knowledge of Microsoft Project and the generation of project plans using this tool
Knowledge of MS Office

3-5 years experience within Database Marketing department
Proven experience in project management in technology development environment
Mid-tiered server experience: UNIX or Microsoft Server experience is preferred
Experience of business intelligent tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, or other OLAP tools.
Strong knowledge of DBMS Oracle and DB2
Professional designations such as SAS Programming Certification, Project Management Certification
In-depth knowledge of database construction, campaign tools networking/operating system platforms, external security and communication Strong experience with vendor relationships (contract management, project planning, implementation, and change management)
Excellent communication skills-verbal and written-including ability to effectively present technical issues to non-technical staff in Corporate Marketing
Strong analytical and organizational skills, and attention to details
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and build organizational relationship with IT managers, IT staff, campaign managers, data consultant team and external technology vendor.
Strong knowledge of best practices in developing and maintenance of marketing customer database as well as privacy practices to protect customer information
Strong problem identification & solving; experience with technical documentation
Ability to interpret business requirements, develop technical specifications and walkthrough specs with IT staff and/or programmers
Excellent QA skills
Ability to keep abreast with trends and latest development in database marketing environment and recommend best practices including appropriate technology, software, process to management

Web publishing group, has an immediate need for a Ruby on Rails Developer to join their team on a long term consulting basis. The group does exciting work developing innovative web applications for a variety of different industries. Most of these are based on open-source frameworks. The Ruby on Rails developer will work with an unusually talented team of developers with expertise in Ruby on Rails or PHP. Most new development projects are deployed in Ruby on Rails but the group does maintain and develop new object-oriented PHP applications. The Ruby on Rails Developer will also need to have a willingness and ability to learn new technologies that fit into the current development environment. The group is well versed with all front end technologies including more complex front end layouts using XHTML, CSS2, AJAX and JavaScript DOM. Additionally, the Ruby on Rails developer will provide hands-on technical leadership with junior coders.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated experience developing and deploying Ruby on Rails applications.
-Experience with other open-source languages is ideal. Including PHP, MySQL and Linux Systems.
-Ability to administer and build out Apache web servers is a plus but not required.
