Production Support Analyst in New York, NY
PURPOSE
Production Support carries out data manipulation and data transfer on behalf of US Wholesale Businesses. The role combines production support as tightly integrated into development work managed within Production Support's responsibilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
. Production Support participation in the a.m. shift.
. Developer responsibilities for technology within the group. Maintenance of current code, development of new code and technology.
. Participate in project work involving the group.
. Responsible for monitoring all intraday job processing.
. Responsible for deployment and maintenance for current and new projects related to the group
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Plays an integral role in the deployment of all business applications; interaction with the project management is key to the success of the project.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
. Shift hours: 7AM-4PM
. Strong oral and written communications skills.
. Unix hands on experience
. Shell scripting hands-on experience.
. PERL scripting hands-on experience.
. Sybase Knowledge: bcp, SQL queries, stored procedures, and elementary configuration files.
. Willing to work in a team-based, production support environment.
. Group rotated holiday & occasional shift coverage.
Required:
Minimum intermediate level development skills in a Unix shell, sql and perl scripting environment.
Preferred:
. Understanding of a job scheduled environment;
. Understanding CVS or SCCS (source code control systems).
WORKING CONDITIONS
. The work environment is based on a office/trading floor, thus little physical effort is required;
. The office environment can be a high stress environment that requires quick turnaround and decision making;
