A large, well-known investment bank in mid-town Manhattan is seeking Network Engineer to manage a secure lab comprised of over 100 SUN / HP servers, Cisco routers/switches, and Network probes.
- Work with building facilities and electricians to maintain the market data lab.
- Perform various stress, component tests with market data vendors and internal engineering teams
- rebuild and customize server environment as testers request (both hardware/software)
- reconfiguring switches and re-cabling networks to isolate testing environments
- troubleshoot performance bottleneck, tuning problems
Experience: Solaris 8+, Redhat AS 3 and 4.
TCP/IP
Sybase SQL Server
Familiarity with Solaris Jumpstart / Linux
Kickstart - the lab testing does require frequent rebuilding of OS's.
Borne shell (sh), Perl 5 (debugging), XML, Directory service (LDAP), security protocol (SSH), other distributed network services such as DHCP, DNS, NIS, NFS, AutoFS, Samba, SNMP
Knowledge of Cisco IOS, switches and routers, Apcon, cabling
