PURPOSE OF JOB: Ideal candidate will have functioned in the capacity of a Business Analyst on multiple full life cycle projects. Primary purpose will be to act as a link between business people, on site support and the company that created the software. In this capacity, the Business Analyst's main responsibilities will be to design new functionality with end users, help investigate any system issues, create project deliverables, work with the technical team to ensure the configured system meets end user requirements and facilitate discussions with appropriate client resources throughout the duration of the project. RESPONSIBILITIES: Help facilitate implementation of the solution by the following: Identify and gather the requirements from business users Understand application development and impact of requirements on the application Training / Demonstrations of system to specific user groups Develop and record the information through review of client documentation, interviews and workshops; Develop and execute test plans; Verify that requirements are testable and generate testing objectives Act as liaison between client and project team; Provide end user deployment support Manage issues proactively and work with entire team to resolve issues. Project Management Coordination Assist in the preparation of status reports. Address project related issues and client concerns to facilitate efficient operation of the project. Communicate with developers throughout the development process to ensure the solution satisfies client requirements. Review of all client deliverables for presentation to the client. Facilitate client sign off on project deliverables. SKILLS & GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience with the following documentation: Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, Use Cases Scenarios, Test Scripts, End User Training Curriculum, CBTs etc. Ability to multi-task and interact in a professional manner with colleagues, clients and operational functions. Attention to detail and able to function well in a deadline-driven work environment. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal daily direction. Excellent time-management and presentation techniques. Ability to conduct interviews and facilitate workshops to define client needs. Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication. Ability to assimilate and process new information quickly. Creative with superb troubleshooting abilities. I have been asked to identify ideally regionally local Independent Consultant HP UNIX C++ Developer / UNIX/C++ Programmer candidates with five+ years experience with detailed Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming principles and techniques in a real-time critical environment, specifically experience using UML and C++ ideally with knowledge of Configuration Management methodologies and Clearcase as well as experience and/or knowledge of the securities industry for a one year+ independent contract opportunity in New York City, New York. (Ideally regionally local NY / NJ / CT area candidates, no interviewing, travel or relocation expenses are provided for this opportunity. The selected ideally regionally local Independent Consultant HP/UX C++ Developer / UNIX C++ Programmer candidate will have the following job description: Design and code new or design and code modifications to applications, significant subsystems and/or complex individual programs using Object Oriented techniques and in adherence to specified business and Functional requirements as well as design and coding guidelines. Write detailed design specifications using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). Code using C++ on Unix. Prepare design and code in a centrally managed development environment using principles of Configuration Management. Take an active role in full application testing. Unit Test own and other's programs and determine source(s) of error(s). Test combined sets of interacting programs, including own and other's programs. Test full range of system (or significant subsystem) functionality including tests that cross systems boundaries. Planning and Execution of such tests; diagnosis and repair of problems; verification of output against known results. Write clear and concise status reports, memos and miscellaneous items. Participate in basic negotiations with other departments to achieve project/product goals. Communicate effectively with the customer. Take an active role in discussions and acquisition of business knowledge pertinent to the business of the customer and the company. Take an active role in technical discussions. This long term independent contracting opportunity in New York City, New York offers an initial one year+ independent contract with a competitive starting rate in the $525 to $555 per seven hour day range depending on experience with no expenses available. Your asking compensation will be submitted after your approval. Requirements:

Qualified ideally regionally local Independent Consultant HP UNIX C++ Developer / UNIX/C++ Programmer candidates will have: -5+ years experience with Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming principles and techniques in a real-time critical environment. -Detailed knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming techniques. -Specifically, experience using UML and C++ and be able to demonstrate and apply this knowledge. -Excellent analytical skills. -Superior team building skills. -Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally: -Understanding and experience with Software Engineering principles and guidelines as well as with the Unified Process itself. -Ability to work in a quickly changing and ambiguous environment. -Experience with HP-UX. -Knowledge of Configuration Management methodologies and Clearcase. -Experience and/or knowledge of the securities industry.
