The Budgeting Application Tool-set is Khalix from Longview Solutions. It is not critical that you have experience with this tool (because few do.) However, experience with other Budgeting / Forecasting / Financial Planning & Consolidation Tools is highly preferred. The Platform is not so important. The application server will be NT and the database will either be SQL Server or Oracle. Purpose and Key Responsibilities of the position: The Technical Analyst is a key person on the Business Intelligence project team and needs to be involved throughout the development and implementation cycle. The technical analyst (TA) will have the responsibility of being a liaison to the business users of the Client Budgeting System. The TA will work closely with the business / finance users to understand the current budgeting and financial close processes. The TA is responsible for customizing the budgeting application package to meet the current and future needs of the business users at an Agency and Enterprise level. Thus, this person will become knowledgeable of the full-functionality and features of the commercial off-the-shelf budgeting application package and act as a ?Budgeting Tool and Budget/Planning Process Expert.? The TA will also learn the scripting language (similar to VBA-excel scripts/ functions) in order to implement calculations, formulas and custom functions. The TA will work with source systems and the data warehouse for ?actuals? data that is required in order to enable ?budget vs. actual? comparisons and detail reporting capabilities. They will work closely with other developers to ensure the data can be sourced and utilized within the planning system. They are responsible for participating in unit/ system testing as well as the coordination of end-user acceptance testing and training. The TA is responsible for ensuring that the final Budgeting Application implementation will meet the user expectations. Key Responsibilities: ? Develop scope of work and functional specification documents. ? Understand the business users? requirements for information, document and communicate them among the project team ? Customize the Budgeting / Planning Templates; customize formulas, business workflows and spreadsheet templates within the budgeting system. ? Develop simple and complex reports using GUI reporting tools; ? Lead the identification, documentation and development of business metrics; ? Act as steward of standard budget templates and calculations; Manage process of changing and updating spreadsheet templates across multiple user groups. ? Coordinate and attend meetings with clients and managers to define requirements and project goals. ? Manage communication to and from internal clients and development staff about project status and clarification of requests. ? Coordinate and produce all documents necessary to complete unit, system, QA and end user testing. Includes development of use cases, test plans, defect tracking. Challenges faced: ?
