I. Position Summary:
The Engineer services and maintains the operations of JetBlue multi-tiered information storage infrastructure. This role includes managing storage area networks (SAN) in a high available architecture, along with a complex backup architecture including replication technologies.
II. Essential Functions:
Storage Engineer - Specific Functions
? Manages the Production SANs, including allocating and reporting on disk utilization, correcting issues, and reporting regularly on utilization
? Designs and implements SAN fabrics using Director-class switches
? Manages all disk arrays within JetBlue infrastructure, works with Information Technology (IT) Crewmembers to ensure 24 hours a day/7 days a week support and availability for the disk infrastructure
? Implements all changes to the disk infrastructure, and creates new procedures to manage the growth of JetBlue systems
? Works with all IT groups to effectively utilize disk storage
? Implements strategies to lower overall disk utilization via effective use of archival strategies and vaulting
? Interfaces with JetBlue IT Crewmembers to understand new software functionality and to define its impact and storage requirements
Storage Engineer - Core Functions
? Helps organize the storage management discipline
? Provides storage guidance to other IT service providers
? Makes storage recommendations related to tactical initiative and long term requirements
? Analyzes all information storage requirements
? Provides assistance to the Backup and Recovery Engineer
? Participates in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans
? Contributes to the ongoing evolution of storage management best practices
III. Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or documented work experience or equivalent formal technical education
? Minimum four (4) years of experience in adva nced systems administration
? Minimum two (2) years of experience in high availability solution design and implementation within a large production environment
? Regular attendance and punctuality

? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Storage Engineer - Specific Competencies
? Working knowledge and experience managing a disk infrastructure with required 24 hours a day/7 days a week Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
? Working knowledge and experience with EMC St orage devices, control center and services
? Working knowledge and experience with Fabric design and management
? Experience with data archival and vaulting strategies, and the integration of tape and disk storage management processes
? Experience migrating large volumes of data from one architecture to another with minimal downtime
Storage Engineer - Core Competencies
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Visio
? Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (EMC technologies preferred but not required)
