Extensive infrastructure design and engineering experience in at least three of the following technology areas:
1. UNIX Infrastructure - Solaris 8, 10
2. Linux Infrastructure - RedHat 7
3. Windows 2000 & 2003 Server
4. Database - Sybase, Oracle 9i & standard
5. Storage - SAN, NAS DAS, Backup - EMC, HDS, NetApps, Legato
6. Networking Technology - Routing, Switching, LAN/MAN/WAN, VLAN, Mutlicast, VPN - CISCO
7. Market Data & Messaging - Pub/Sub, TiBCo RV, MQ, Sonic MQ,
8. Security - Firewalls, IDS, Encryption
9. Active Directory, NDS, LDAP
10. Application Servers/Middleware - JBOSS, TOMCAT, BEA Weblogic, IBM Websphere, J2EE
11. Systems Management - Monitoring, Performance & Capacity Management, Provisioning
. 5 years IT experience
. 3 years IT design and engineering experience
. Demonstrated documentation and report writing capability
. Demonstrated formal project skills
. Accredited higher qualification - equivalent Hons Degree 2.1 or higher
. 4 years of Financial IT related work experience
. Extensive exposure to Application Development lifecycle and team characteristics
. Formal technical authoring skills
. Exposure to 6 or more of above technologies
Reporting to the NA BTIM the successful candidate will be responsible for executing:
. Infrastructure requirements gathering, analysis, design and engineering
. Execution of design reviews, analysis and solutions recommendations
. Adoption and communication of patterns based design
. Development of technology roadmaps and communications
. Identification of new technology products and drive of adoption within the IB and Core Engineering teams
. Ownership and execution of key cross group strategic technology programmes
