I. Position Summary:

Maintains responsibility for JetBlue's email infrastructure including, Exchange Servers, SMTP Servers and Iron Port Appliances. Provides primary support to the JetBlue Service Desk and secondary support to JetBlue Crewmembers. Support is to include formal training and documentation, and lunchtime learning sessions and seminars.

II. Essential Functions:

Messaging Services Engineer - Specific Functions
? Monitors servers and addresses daily server or mail routing issues
? Designs and tests Microsoft Exchange infrastructure prior to production
? Conducts knowledge transfer with the Service Desk and field support Crewmembers
? Administers mailboxes
? Manages Live Communications server (instant messaging)
? Ascertains and manages user experiences and perceptions related to Spam email
? Conducts formal and informal training of end users and service desk Crewmembers
? Assists in the development and deployment of email policies and guidelines
? Provides routine statistical metrics in regard to the number of mailboxes, average disk utilization and cost per mailbox
? Provides visibility to the Manager, Messaging Services for upgrades and changes
? Becomes familiar with messaging technologies to include IMSS, Scanmail, LDAP Services and SMTP DOS attacks
? Administers RTC/SIP/ISA 2004/Blackberry Solutions and Wireless Active Sync
? Establishes and maintains a high level of morale and collaboration in an environment of aggressive growth and change

III. Minimum Qualifications:

? Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
? One (1) to four (4) years of related messaging experience
? Knowledge of messaging protocols, IMAP, MAPI, SMTP, POP3
? Experience with mail systems, Windows, networks, and Microsoft Exchange program
? In depth understanding of internal DNS, external DNS, WINS and TCPIP technologies
? Regular att endance and punctuality
? Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion
? Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
? Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
? Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
? When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

IV. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Messaging Services Engineer - Specific Competencies
? Knowledge of Office 2003
? Knowledge of Microsoft networking
? Knowledge of enterprise and IT environment operation
? Knowledge of data center operation and interdependencies with corporate enterprise
? Knowledge of computer server/processor hardware and software
? Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Gateways, SMTP, Active Directories, and la test operating systems, software packages and database technologies

V. Working Conditions:

Equipment:

? Desktops
? Network-related equipment and servers

Work Environment:

? Normal office environment with periodic travel to other sites
? Present for core business hours but on call 24 hours per day/7 days per week due to potential server issues

Physical Effort:

? Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
