Software Business Analyst Job description:
Job Summary:
This key individual will help define our Software offering by working collaboratively with customers, product development, and stakeholder staff members. This person will write business use cases and functional specifications for the next generation of our product line. The accuracy and completeness of the specifications will be vital, as the documentation will be used by development, quality assurance, and the documentation departments in preparation for full scale deployment of the product to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
* Create process documents, requirements documents, flow diagrams, use cases and other user documents. Translate requirements into functional specifications for hand-over to internal technical teams and subject matter experts.
* Create and maintain the design documents, verify that requirements are testable and generate testing case scenarios.
* Prepare system documentation, release notes, files for the help subsystem, etc.
* May require periodic domestic and international travel.

Experience: Required Qualifications/Skills:
* Demonstrated experience with ERP/CRM software in the multi channel retail space.
* Degree in computer science, management information systems or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 3 years experience as a software business analyst.
* Experience defining and documenting software requirements.
* Experience working in a software system delivery methodology.
* Experience documenting software designs.
* Strong customer and business focus.
* Demonstrated ability to support multiple project milestones concurrently.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal, including the ability to produce clear and well organized documents.
* Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work products with attention to detail.
* Experience working with customers and technical staffs to define, document and track software requirements and design.
* Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Visio, and MS Project.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
* Experience working in a small software company or equivalent.
* Facility with the Unified Modeling Language (UML).
* Experience with Rational Unified Process (RUP).
* Experience using iterative development methodologies.
* Experience using Rational Suite of Tools, specifically ReqPro.*
* Familiarity with the Common Information Model (CIM).*
