Job Responsibilities:
Provide support to our ERP user community, answering user questions, debugging systems and processes, and working with vendors directly when issues require escalation.
Proactively scope system and process improvements while working with our finance team.
Ensure integrity of systems by supporting applications, analyzing re-curing problems, find and implement permanent solutions.
Lead technical implementation projects such as Lawson upgrades, new product rollouts, larger enhancement projects, and interface creation with external systems.
Prepare business problem definition and requirement statements; generate business design and/or system or subsystem specifications for the solution of business or technical problems.
Prepare technical design of end user applications systems.
Evaluate alternative approaches in business and technical design of applications systems, including assessment of risk, benefits, and costs associated with each alternative.
Generate/modify detailed specifications for new/existing programs and workflows.
Develop test cases and test plans, create the test environment, and conduct system tests for new or modified programs.
Manage projects and assignments using accepted project management methodology.
Communicate effectively with users and other technical staff.
Prepare and maintain program, data, and system documentation.
Experience: Experience: At least five years experience implementing, and supporting Unix based Lawson 8 applications (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Ledger;) programming language background experience helpful; Unix- based application experience (HP); demonstrated project management experience.
Specific Knowledge: Possess fundamental knowledge of systems analysis, program design and specification, testing, and documentation; knowledge of Unix and relational RDBMS (Oracle).
Skills Required: Excellent analytical skills; UNIX (HP/UX), familiar with shell scripting (awk, sed, Bourne, Korn), Oracle SQL, and FTP technology
Competencies: Shows high interest in systems and process improvement, strong analytical and problem solving skills; willing to work at a detailed level; good written and oral communication skills as well as strong project management skills. Ability to work on multiple assignments; meet deadlines; work independently with minimal supervision; ability to prioritize jobs and be flexible. Ability to work overtime when required. Perform other work-related functions as assigned.
Education: Bachelor degree in related discipline preferred.
Experience in media industry is highly desirable but not required.
