The QA Tester (Senior) is responsible for driving, building and maintaining relationships with QA Manager, interfacing with Architecture and Application team. Responsibilities include: regression testing; assembly testing; impact testing; architecture; performance and need to organize J unit test scripts. Develop, execute and update test plans/test scripts, test cases, identify serious issues, defects and deviation from user specifications in applications. Prepare status and statistical reports to communicate test results on an ongoing basis to user development & management.
Ability to:
Create test deliverables: test methodology, test strategy, test plan and preliminary test cases
Plan and execute systems testing and interface impact testing
Plan and execute user acceptance testing
Specify test environment requirements
Coordinate cross-cell testing activities
Insure that written requirements are *SMART* (i.e. testable)
Develop an in-depth understanding of assigned applications, databases and infrastructure.
Define and document test cases to exercise the product to Review product design for compliance with functional and technical specifications
Apply ingenuity and determination to find the best possible options to support business needs
Create test strategies that increase test coverage, validate salability, failover and recovery and improves quality
Design and implement automated tests using departments defined framework
Maintain real time log of executed tests, results and environment
Enforce defect management procedures within the project team
Influence project team to follow the defined procedures within the quality system
Participate in scheduling of target dates for deliverables, prioritizes and monitors activities to meet such dates
Provide assessment of product quality at key milestones to project leaders, QA and management
Use quantitative estimating techniques based on industry practices and personal experience; and,
Mentor less senior QA analysts of QA methodologies and techniques that will positively impact software quality and delivery schedules.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline required
5 + years of industry related experience
4+ years of QA process in a client server or distributed environment
Experience at a financial/insurance company a plus
