Project Manager - Mainframe in New York City, NY

Searching for a Consultant who will function as a Project Manager on a large legacymainframe application used for back office trade support and cash DDA processing.
This individual should have a minimum of 15 years experience within a financial
services firm with at least 10 years of IT project management experience. Successfully
demonstrates an ability to manage onshore and offshore teams. Proven track record
for producing quality deliverables in critical timeframes and on budget. The successful
candidate will be able to work independently within various technology areas of
the Bank. A solid history of managing development, support, enhancements and troubleshooting
is required. Required knowledge of financial accounting and general ledger processing.
Knowledge of HP Project and Portfolio Management system, Hogan International Systems
(GDK Systems) and global cash accounting and processing a strong plus. PMI certification
a plus. Process driven with SDLC and CMM framework. Knowledge and experience in
mainframe systems and technologies, in particular COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQSeries. The preferred candidate should possess the following: Excellent oral and written
communication skills; Must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical
resources, capable of both direct and matrix management; Must be able to take strategic
direction from senior management; Must take initiative; Must be able to see tasks
through to completion without significant guidance.
