C++ Developer in New York, NY

Our client is seeking a lead software developer that would be responsible for the creation and maintenance of APIs for their Media Asset Management platform. Deep working knowledge of, C++, C#, gSOAP, XML, and Web services/Soap
Platform development includes Unix and Windows 2000/2003/XP environments. Oracle, MySQL, XML, XML Schema, C & C++ and web application development are a plus. Familiarity with the .Net environment and database concepts a plus.
You would also work closely with the documentation manager, to create customer-facing documents such as user guides and online help, API reference and developer guide material, product release notes, and training materials.
Position also involves integration, system debugging, performance tuning. Must fully test all code to ensure it meets specifications and company guidelines. Works with rest of development team to ensure code integrates effectively. As needed, works with business to refine specifications and update design.
Client is a demanding team that puts an emphasis on continuously improving the skills of the team members during code and design reviews. Familiarity with news and broadcast customer environments is a plus.
Requirements:
Ideal candidate will possess a BSCS/BSEE or equivalent with 5+ years of software product development experience designing and developing high performance, scalable, robust and reliable software.
Strong knowledge of C++, C#, gSOAP, XML, and Web services/SOAP. Experience with SQL and Oracle API experience. Excellent debugging skills are a must. Working Knowledge of .Net, operating systems and networking concepts. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a self starter, and have the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with minimal supervision.
