Skills Required: Experience with Sybase 12.x Database Administration and Sybase Replication server. Any experience with UNIX shell scripting and/or Perl Scripting is a HUGE plus. Experience on architecting and implementing high availability solutions. Advanced SQL knowledge. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Strong communication and verbal skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong background supporting mission critical applications in financial industry.
Diagnose and resolve production problems Disaster planning/recovery. Daily server maintenance Performance optimization of Dataserver, Databases and Applications. Also responsible for Capacity and Scalability Planning, Database physical design. Develop stored procedures and triggers. Develop tools to automate the maintenance, monitoring and alert notification of database server. Mentor and coach junior database administrators
Additional Skills: Hands on experience of supporting either UDB or Oracle is a strong plus. Experience: Sybase
