We are seeking a Senior Desktop Support Technician certified in Microsoft Windows XP to provide desktop support services in PC (Windows XP/2000/98), Apple (OS 9.x, X) hardware and software environment located at our various sites in New York metro and Long Island areas
Responsibilities include:
Provide desktop hardware and software support / maintenance
Configuring and upgrading desktops and laptops
Troubleshooting malfunctions hardware, ordering and installing replacement parts and hardware upgrade
Applying and testing security patches and OS/applications services pack
Performing preventive maintenance, including hard drive defragmentation
Provide Help Desk support
Create and administer user accounts in a Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 server.
Provide printer support, maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintain and administer antivirus applications including identifying and removing SPAM and Spy ware programs
Setting and configure various backup applications
Install and troubleshooting MS Office XP/2003 including in depth knowledge of MS Outlook/Exchange
A successful individual will need to have the following skills/characteristics:
Strong technical background with a broad range of technologies, including but not limited to:
PC hardware/software, server hardware and latest operating systems, network connectivity and communications
Expert knowledge of Windows 2000 Professional, XP, 98 and the ability to install integrate and support these operating systems.
Be able to install, maintain and troubleshoot MS Office XP/2003
Administer Active Directory users and groups
Configuration, installation, integration and troubleshooting of various network devices such as Lexmark and IBM printers, wireless access points
