Basic Function:
As part of M&T's Technology Infrastructure the Senior Analyst would perform the analysis, design, programming and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.
Responsibilities:
Full/independent administration and development of the M&T Bank Problem and Change Management Application/Platform, HP Peregrine Service Center.
On call for off shift concerns as necessary or on call support for off-hour production issues.
This position performs analysis, design, programming, and implementation on systems and procedures to solve complex business or scientific problems.
Applies conversions and enhancements to business systems.
Maintains, develops and modifies programs according to detailed specifications.
Automating manual or inefficient processes using a programming language; such as Java.
Writing and editing software that interacts with databases (MySQL, HP Service Center, HP P4)
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of four years college experience in applicable field of study or five years experience in Programmer/Analyst environment.
Requires experience with application development software and hardware platforms (Java, Perl, Shell scripting, PHP)
Strong knowledge and systems administration experience with Relational database design and management, Java Script, UNIX/Linux server administration.
Possess a strong ability to develop applications to business requirements
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently
Strong written and verbal communciation skills
Requires a thorough knowledge of the system development life cycle and application development alternatives.
Demonstrates a high aptitude for complex problem analysis and resolution.
Ideal Qualifications:
BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred.
Strong knowledge and proficiency for system administration and concepts for software utilized in HP Peregrine Service Center, HP Peregrine P4 database and MS SQL Server.
ITIL experience with and/or ITIL certification
Bank operations and proven project management experience is a plus
Prior operational experience in a support position and/or in a position requiring a high level of technical customer service.
Strong organizational abilities
