SENIOR CIVIL DESIGNER/DRAFTER in Fort Edward, NY

Experience a Dynamic Global Company that is Committed to a Sustainable World and the Communities it Serves Senior Civil Designer/Drafter – Fort Edward, NY Project: Hudson River Dredging project in need of a Senior Civil Designer from May 2009 – October 2009; per diem included. Need: Performs a variety of civil designing, grading / drafting tasks in support of a large civil/ environmental engineering project. Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of grading plans, profiles and cross-sections, and design details. Makes required changes, additions, and/or revisions, as directed by immediate supervisor. Collect design data from existing CAD drawings, Import existing design drawings and adjusting per Contract set-back requirements, Develop grid layouts, Prepare various record drawings, including Post dredging mud-line elevations, Confirmatory sampling locations + chemical data; Drawings of areas to be backfilled, capping drawings Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to achieve incident free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both client and Parsons. Experience: Requirements: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is required. Experience with AutoCad (including AutoCAD Civil 3d) is required and displays self-management, strong written and verbal communications, and leadership skills AutoCAD Civil 3D experience; Working with and transforming grid files Constructing TINs Constructing surfaces from TINs Generating contours from surfaces and surfaces from contours Generating volumes from surface differences Generating isopachs from contour differences; 3D rendering of topography and isopachs; Working with geo-referenced raster files for over/under lays Familiarity with GPS surveying and data manipulation Familiarity with GIS.
