Might consider someone with a TN Visa.Primary Description/Responsibilities.Scope of position:Join a small, energetic, team in a fantastic company working on very exciting projects. The Sr. Designer will participate in all stages of the product development process and can work effectively supporting editorial design needs. Our ideal candidate understands our fast-paced environment, has top notch communication skills, and is comfortable leading other designers. The candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of interactive design with a sense of urgency for interactive platforms ranging from Websites to mobile devices. Job Responsibilities: v Creates designs for new product features, & editorial infographicsv Conceive and develop interactive features, graphics and templates (ie using Flash). Must be an excellent partner working with product managers, editors, developersv Bring strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills to translate conceptual ideas (business needs and user goals) into interaction and design solutions.v Assess data from multiple sources and synthesize it in order to develop efficient user scenarios and design patterns, v Create and effectively present UX deliverables to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders.JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Top required skills.THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST*1. Experience in highly recognized media environments such as New York Times; CNN etc.2. MUST have experience in FLASH, HTML, PHOTOSHOP and CSS3. Must have a Bachelors Degree4. Fluent in CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, HTML. 5. Experience in creating quick functional mockups 6. Expert in actionscript/xml and building Flash interactives7. Knowledge of DHTML and CSS ; actionscript; xml; JScript (Ajax, jQuery) is a plus 8. Experience in a news media environment is a must. If candidate has experience in Websites like WebMD;, IVillage or Martha Stewart, this is ok but would prefer must stronger experience on heavy content websites.9. Require online portfolio to be submitted with your resume. 10. Excellent Aesthetic design skills, information visualization skills11. Works well with stakeholders and team members of all disciplines and experience levels 12. Familiar with market and design trends in content-driven sites 13. 6 years as a graphic designer creating solutions for the Web 14.
