Summary
The role of the Senior Developer for Business applications is a hands-on role of supporting and implementing business applications. Some of these custom applications are currently written in a combination of PowerBuilder and web technology using Java, and the packaged application used is PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable and Billing. The ideal business application developer has skills to support all business applications. Business application developers currently report to the VP of Information Technology and are expected to contribute substantially in architecting solutions for business applications.

Responsibilities
Business application developers at our Client are expected to have both strong technical skills and a deep understanding of the business units supported by the applications they write. The business application developers should have the ability to formulate efficient design solutions for the development efforts assigned to them.

Key Skills
Senior business application developers are expected to have the following skills:
. 7+ years of IT development experience required where a minimum of 5 years should have been with developing core financial applications.
. Hands on ability to write programs in the technology used to implement applications including PeopleSoft, PowerBuilder and Oracle for client server technology.
. 3+ years of hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Accounts Receivable and Billing modules required including proficiency with SQR, Crystal Reports, PS Query, Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine. Candidates having experience with PeopleSoft v8 and above, including proficiency with PeopleSoft v8 tools, Application Messaging, Integration Broker etc., would be preferred.
. Technical experience required includes knowledge of Oracle programming including Oracle PL/SQL, triggers, functions, procedures, alerts, forms and reports.
. Preference would be given to candidates that have 2+ experience with PowerBuilder and Java programming. Experience with PowerBuilder v9 including a good understanding of PowerBuilder foundation classes is desirable.
. Knowledge of best practices for software development and experience with development methodologies required. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in an environment requiring Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
. Ability to provide valuable contribution during design sessions.
. Strong communication skills for interaction with business users and with other members of the technology staff.
. A Computer Science Bachelor's level college degree or equivalent preferred.
. A pro-active attitude toward assisting the development team and other members of the technology staff in anticipating problems and improving performance of the department.
