We are currently looking to staff a contract-to-direct Oracle DBA position in Buffalo, NY.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Oracle, as well as experience in design, planning, implementation, backup/recovery, performance tuning (database system performance tuning and SQL tuning), and security. Overall responsibilities will include support of Oracle databases in Unix and Linux environments
Experience: * BS/MS degree in IT/IS or related curriculum
* 5-7 years of database administration experience
* 2-3+ years of Oracle experience (9i or 10g)
* Extensive knowledge and skill in Unix scripting, SQL*Plus and PL/SQL.
* a good working knowledge of Solaris operating system and Veritas cluster server.
* Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
* Must be Ability to handle on-call duties on a rotating basis with other DBAs.
