<h2> SQL Server DBA </H2> <br> <br> Our client, a prominent Brooklyn based web publishing company, is in need of an experienced SQL Server DBA. The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the performance monitoring and fine-tuning of the systems for optimal performance. The SQL DBA will pro-actively plan, recommend, and implement capacity, growth and changes in a clustered SQL Server 2000/05 environment. The SQL Server DBA will coordinate routine server maintenance and implement infrastructure changes as needed. The environment is mostly SQL Server 2000 transitioning to SQL Server 2005. <br/><br/>All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. All applicants applying for Canadian job openings must be authorized to work in Canada. Experience: The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of strong experience as a SQL Server DBA. (Does not need to be an architect) and the following qualifications.<br> -Strong experience with clustering and replication is a plus.<br> -Experience installing, configuring and supporting SQL Server databases is required.<br> -Working knowledge of database performance tuning and configuration tools in MS SQL Server is a plus.<br> -Exposure to SQL Server 2005 is a huge plus.<br> -Strong communication and presentation skills are a must.<br> <br> MUST BE ABLE TO START IMMEDIATLEY.
