Senior Project Manager

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our New York City team. The successful candidate should possess minimally eight years in Financial Systems Analysis. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
1. Function as Project Manager and Primary Analyst for automation of the Financial Management Unit.
2. Prepare project plans, existing system documentation, functional requirements, flowcharts, and new system specifications.
3. Recommend software solutions, workflow procedures, banking practices, data migration paths, interfaces and other systems solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, stability and operability of the financial management situation.
4. Participate in meetings with end users, accountants, technical staff, management, and vendors, as needed.
5. Present demos and system models, conduct testing, and collaborate with users, accountants, and management to determine goals and features.
6. Train accounting staff to use new system features prior to implementation.
7. Regularly report to management, in written and/or verbal form (as requested), on progress, issues, meetings, and other important project information.

To be considered for the position, candidates must possess the following mandatory skills and experience:

1. Demonstrated knowledge of accounting rules and procedures from a systems point of view (Accounting degree and/or CPA preferred).
2. 8 years experience in financial systems analysis.
3. Excellent writing skills, included documented evidence of the ability to write financial system analysis and specification documents.

Candidates with the following desirable experience will be considered first:

1. Experience with representative payee, fund management, or fund accounting practices and procedures.
2. Broad knowledge of fund accounting and/or representative payee vertical market and/or proprietary software.
3. Experience with Oracle Financials and/or Fund-EZ accounting software.
4. Experience in public sector human services projects and programs.
