Scheduling Software Architecture Role for MAJOR media Co. in NYC. This contract position is for a minimum of 3 mo. but very likely to go beyond that and become perm.
Opportunity to become the central architect of the next generation of the key enterprise scheduling and finance system.
Defines the software architecture standards covering software modeling, application code, UI design, query/stored procedure design and the database schema and ensures on-going adherence to the architecture standards.
Defines the design pattern, object-orientation and re-usability strategy for the application.
Interacts with other enterprise architects, adheres to enterprise standards and processes, and ensures appropriate use of technology for enterprise infrastructure.
Defines the technical design and review process and ensures on-going adherence to this process including code review and oversight.
Works with Project Managers in defining the project plan and managing to deliverables.
Works with on-shore and off-shore designers and developers to ensure software quality within budget and timeline.
Oversees on-going system design for enhancements and support.
Recommends usage of new technologies.
Aligns business need with appropriate technology usage.
Provides thought leadership on software development best practice for the entire Software Development.
Required Experience
5 years experience in defining enterprise-wide architecture
5 years experience with .net including C#, .net 2.0
5 years experience with SQL Server, including SQL Server 2005
5 years experience with dealing with contract staff
5 years experience working with offshore
5 years experience working with Object Orientation and Software Reusability
2-5 years experience in Software Modeling
5-10 years experience as a Software Developer
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related
Preferred Experience
UML and RUP Experience
Experience with ETL, Webservices and XML
Television industry experience
Experience as a technical lead
Masters in Computer Science or related
