Genesis10 is seeking a Lead Java Developer for our client, a major Investment Bank, for their Risk Finance Data Warehouse Group (RFDW). This is an AVP level role based out of Midtown on a full-time basis.
Project Overview
- Provide software design, development, unit testing, and documentation as part of the Risk Finance Integration effort.
- Design and build the Data Access Layer (DAL) and Event Management Framework allowing downstream consumers to interact with the data warehouse.
- Ensure that all delivered software meets business requirements and quality standards.
- Provide technical leadership and assist in the coordination of effort with offshore resources.
Experience: Required Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years experience.
- 2+ years experience working in a Risk / Finance environment.
- Expert level Java programming skills.
- Experience with J2EE development (JMS, EJB, MDB, etc.).
- Experience working with MQ or TIBCO messaging products in a Java environment.
- Working knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, database design, and optimization.
- Experience implementing Web Services.
- Experience with various XML technologies (DOM, SAX, XPATH, etc.).
- Experience with UNIX commands, shell scripting, etc.
- Experience programming in a distributed environment.
- Experience with multi-threaded programming.
- Knowledge of common software development methodologies (XP, Agile, RUP, etc.).
- Experience with software release/build processes (e.g., Continuous Integration, etc.).
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Ability to discuss issues openly.
- Detail-oriented and focused.
- Pragmatic and systematic way of working.
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team and to lead by example.
- Entrepreneurial, flexible and hard working. 'Gets things done'.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with C# and .NET a plus.
- Oracle experience a plus.
