BASIC FUNCTION: As part of M&T's Central Technology division, the Quality Assurance System Administrator will participate or provide oversight in requirements gathering and the developing and/or reviewing test scripts with test team
RESPONSIBILITIES: Install and configure test tools. Create install procedures. Test tools to ensure tools perform per vendor specifications. Perform vendor problem resolution tasks. Act as administrator of test tools; set-up and maintain projects and user. Create user procedures. Support web portal for test reports. Set-up, maintains, and support automated script schedules. Perform test script change management: version control and maintenance of script reuse library. Manage downloading, testing, and implementation of vendor releases. Maintain user and vendor software lists, versions, and contacts. Administer and schedule shared and named software licenses. Keep abreast of vendor and M&T technologies and standards. Act as technical advisor to test team. Recommend and order new hardware and software; maintain work orders.  Perform server and workstation maintenance including backup/restore routines and tuning on regular basis. Act in a liaison capacity to Information Technology group for server administration and networking. Perform basic database functions such as query to validate test results and perform manual testing from provided test scripts as required. Support and perform analysis, design, development and execution of automated test scripts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or in lieu of degree, four to five years relevant system administration / computer science experience. Minimum five years test tools administration experience. Experience in workstation and server installs, and software implementations. Experience in SQL, Oracle, AIX, Windows 2000/2003 and/or XP technologies. Experience with Segue, HP, Mercury, Compuware, IBM, or Rational Test Tools.  Programming (VBScript, VB or VBA) Test Management Tool Administration Test Automation Microsoft SQL (queries/reporting) Ability to communicate with all levels of users and management (technical and non-technical) Microsoft Office Suite
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with administration of HP Quality Center and QuickTest Professional test tools HP Quality Center VBScript Customization Good working knowledge of Systems Development and Test Life Cycles Experience in workstation and server installs, and software implementation.
