Cash/Portfolio Senior Systems Architect POSITION DESCRIPTION This is a senior engineering/support position. The position is approximately 20% frontline support (Tier 1-3) and 60% infrastructure architecture and 20% project support. Design, build, and deploy OS images, applications, and infrastructure environment modifications using packages and scripts. Perform troubleshooting and remediation of OS, trading, productivity, and custom apps in a fast-paced financial services environment. Candidate must be capable of mentoring and contributing to the team as a senior technical resource. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential. Experience supporting trading floor, executive, or financial services professionals a big plus. Candidate must have the ability to take initiative and work through a problem independently. Candidate must also be flexible on hours and shifts and occasional weekend work. Further the candidate must be open to converting to full time once the project is completed.Major Responsibilities: Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of infrastructure problemsRecommend and implement corrective solutions as needed for the network infrastructure. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network architecture to include Linux, Solaris, Firewalls and Network Technologies. Create, test, deploy, and maintain packages, batch files, and scripts for the OS environment. Identify opportunities for optimization for the Network Infrastructure Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding network problems. Answer to and perform move, add, and change requests as they are submitted. Accurately document instances of equipment or component failure, repair, installation, and removal. Liaise with third-party support and vendors as necessary. Evaluate and recommend infrastructure hardware and software products in support of various initiatives. Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future network architecture needs. Write technical specifications for purchase, configuration and deployment of infrastructure hardware, software and related products.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Linux/Solaris OS 7-10 Yearso Must have ability to write custom scripts, build kernels, run Kernel commands, and trouble shoot difficult problems like volume corruption, Kernel errors, and script debugging. Must also have deep understanding of Veritas files system troubleshooting and remediation.- Windows SA/AD knowledge 7-10 Yearso Expert level understanding of concepts and technologies such as, but not limited to: server clusters, high availability network, cloud computing, DNS, SMTP, backup systems, HTTP, Active Directory, and Radius. Expert ability to troubleshoot various OS and application problems. Expert Ability to develop and remediate TCL, PERL, KORN, BASH scripts. Deep understanding of NMS systems and ticketing systems. Thorough understanding of infrastructure architecture methodology.- Networking (LAN, WAN, FWs, Load Balancing) 5-7 Yearso Candidate must have a good understanding of routed and routing technologies, LAN Switching technologies, Firewall and Security Concepts, and Load Balancing Algorithms.- SAN Storage 5-7 Yearso Candidate must have a expert understanding of SRDF/replication, Backplane congestion remediation strategies, Credit allotment strategies, LUN/LPAR design, iop planning, low latency design concepts. Candidate must also be familiar with multiple vendor platforms from EMC, IBM, and NetApp.- Middleware (EMS, MQ, RV) 5-7 Yearso Candidate must have a through understanding of RPC, Message Oriented Middleware, Object Request Brokers, SQL Data Access, Processing Monitors, and Enterprise Service Bus Technologies.
