Seeking a C# Developer to work within Finance IT.
This role is for a developer with strong C# skills to join the Finance IT team working on the pricing & risk application. The individual will be responsible for the design and development of front-end functionality, which is a significant part of the overall reporting application architecture. He/She is expected to contribute to the design and deployment of many components of the system as we go forward.
This is a 2 tier application, consisting of a Sybase database and a C# application front-end. The database receives intraday and end of day feeds from external applications and saves trader bond marks. The application will be used by all Finance traders globally.
Clear, business friendly communication around the technical aspects of the development in hand is essential. There will be regular contact with the application's business analysts and user base as well as the IT support team. The successful candidate will also have a pragmatic, communicative approach.
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE MANDATORY FOR CONSIDERATION:
Requirements:
- Developing high quality application programs using C# and Sybase.
- Conducting and supporting unit and system tests.
- Analyzing business requirements and proposing technical solutions.
- Keeping the project manager informed of progress, issues and risks.
Skills
- A minimum of 4-6 years programming experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience with C#.
- Strong working knowledge of Sybase, including performance tuning
- Fundamental Unix skills.
- Financial experience is a plus
- Background in high volume systems and financial markets.
- Experience with Global Financial Systems or software.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving/analytical skills.
- Strong programming skills with the ability to quickly adapt and learn new languages/technologies.
