Work closely with and under the direction of the Technical Operations Manager to maintain existing and develop new ?in-house? system monitoring and analysis tools. Will be expected to acquire a thorough understanding of TSYS Prepaid production systems and applications and how these tools are used to provide diagnostic and statistical data about them. Interpreting the data provided by these tools and manipulating for effective presentation in HTML and plaintext reports, often targeted toward the resolution of specific system problems, will be a critical part of the role.
Perform ongoing administrative and maintenance tasks for Prepaid's production applications, including: responding to and managing user access requests for various services and systems, manually firing batch jobs on an as-needed basis and carrying out specific manual procedures (ftp file transfers, executing commands and scripts from the Linux command line and sending notification of completed maintenance to clientsHave strong PERL programming skills and be adept at working with regular expressions and complex data structures. SQL/PERL DBI experience (DB2, msyql) is essential, as is a working knowledge of the Linux operating system, especially its basic commands and utilities (such as grep, crontab, ps, sed, awk). Experience using PERL to generate HTML pages, both static and CGI driven, is another requirement, as is a basic understanding of TCP/IP networking and J2EE applications. Strong organizational skills are required.
Knowledge of at least one other scripting language (Ruby or Python preferred) in addition to PERL. Basic familiarity with the Java programming language; ability to read Java source code and interpret application logs / trace files. Familiarity with Unix System and Network Administration tasks and concepts, XML-RPC and statistical analysis of data. Experience in an online transaction-processing environment is a plus.
