Our client has a need for an AS/400 Systems Administrator. This growing company is looking for a consultant to maintain and configure complex networks on a contract basis. As an AS/400 Systems Administrator, you would be responsible for providing technical and system support for the Seneca Falls North American Data Center, as well as operating system upgrades, patches, hardware upgrades and installations and maintenance including Logical Partitioning (LPAR). Responsibilities will also include providing system application programming support utilizing RPG, CL, Java and System API's and maintaining and providing technical support for the following applications/products: &#149; Faxing (FastFax & FaxStar) &#149; Data Warehouse & Query (Showcase) &#149; Data Replication (DataMirror) &#149; Web Server (WebSphere) &#149; System monitoring, alerting and paging (Help Systems) Furthermore, this role will require the consultant to provide technical and system support for iSeries network configuration utilizing TCP/IP and SNA protocols, as well as capacity planning and performance management utilizing existing toolset (Performance Navigator). Experience: To be considered for this role, the incumbent must possess the following: &#149; 10 + years experience with iSeries systems management, configuration and operation &#149; 10 + years experience with iSeries capacity planning and performance management &#149; Periodic weekends and 24x7 on call support as required &#149; Strong knowledge of OS/400 and i5/OS security and setup &#149; Experience in configuring an AS/400 on a LAN using TCP/IP &#149; Familiarity with I-Series Navigator client &#149; Experience in tuning OS/400 and i5/0S for maximal throughput &#149; Knowledge of how to define printers and other devices in OS/400 and i5/OS environments &#149; Functional knowledge of the hardware system configurations for large IBM iSeries and AS/400 machines &#149; Excellent communication and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a team atmosphere To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
