Leading Financial Services firm located in lower Manhattan is seeking the following;

Job Description:
This associate will have primary responsibility for providing technical support in the Windows server area. The associate will be required to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, monitor the success of backup jobs and virus alerts on all servers worldwide, and monitor resource usage on servers and make recommendations for hardware upgrades where necessary. In addition, the associate needs to provide support for Network Appliance filers, Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS environments. 1.Monitor and maintain HP Systems Insight Manager (SIM). Troubleshoot all hardware issues that are reported by SIM. Perform upgrades and apply patches to SIM as necessary and use version control to deploy firmware and driver upgrades to all HP servers. Perform daily monitoring of all alerts to address hardware pre-failure warnings.
2.Monitor the Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) backup reports and work with the TSM manager to troubleshoot TSM related problems on servers.
3.Monitor the Symantec System Center console daily to ensure that any virus activity is noted and investigated in a timely manner. Provide weekly status report to manager of Windows Server Support.
4.Provision servers when required for new builds or for a system refresh. This includes the installation and configuration of a standard suite of software.
5.Troubleshoot problems related to the operating system and applications as recorded in the Support Magic Helpdesk system. This includes handling file restore requests and resolving printing problems.
6.Assist in the maintenance of the infrastructure servers i.e. MOM, DHCP, WINS, Systems Management Servers, Active Directory domain controllers, and File/Print servers. This includes daily monitoring of these systems as a proactive measure to minimize problems and downtime.
7.Assist with the validation of disaster recovery documentation for various applications. This involves building application servers using documented procedures and attending scheduled disaster recovery tests in Philadelphia and New Jersey.
8.Assist with the evaluation of new operating systems, hardware, applications, and tools for the server area.

Salary plus bonus plus benefits LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY Experience: Requirements:
4-5 years experience in supporting the Microsoft Windows Server environment including troubleshooting the operating system, hardware and software issues, and application problems.
2-3 years experience in maintaining and supporting a MOM, SMS, Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS implementation.
3-4 years experience in supporting HP server hardware using Systems Insight Manager.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Systems, or related field.


Candidate must be very detail oriented with good follow up skills. Also, excellent writing and communications skills are required.

Pluses: MCSE certifications (Windows 2000 or 2003) and experience with supporting Tivoli Storage Manager and Arcserve backup products, Exchange 2003, SQL Server 2000, VMWare, and Network Appliance filers (Network Attached Storage).
