ACSR Certified Broadcast Engineer in New York, NY

U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Residency Required. Candidates who do not have this qualification will not be considered. AVID/ACSR certification is required. Candidates who do not possess this certification will not be considered. Our client is a major television entertainment production company seeking a Maintenance Engineer for repair, maintenance and technical / operational support for all networking, production, and related post-production equipment within the production environment. This equipment includes Datacines, Color Correctors, Noise Reducers, plant reference and timing equipment, switchers, audio consoles, cameras, image scanners, routers and switches, linear and non-linear edit systems, image manipulation equipment and systems. In addition, the Engineer will repair and provide support for all desktop workstations based on Unix operating systems, Microsoft operating systems and Macintosh operating systems. S/He will work with developers and other principles to review applications and ensure that protocols are set correctly for the HSP LAN, HBO LAN and WAN. Experience: AVID/ACSR certification required 5-7 years experience in repair of production and post production equipment and tools, data networking, including the following:In-depth knowledge of data and telecommunication networks including protocols Local Area Networks Ethernet Firewall and remote access technologies Cisco Hardware/Software VPN technologies Minimum of five years experience in the maintenance and repair of electronic systems is required with essential knowledge of the following:Film and Film to Tape transfer systems including Thomson Telecine equipment and Pandora Color Correctors DTV and HDTV systems and formats including: 24p format Television production systems and Timing relationships with various pieces of equipment Multiprocessor production tools including Discreet Logic equipment (Fire, Flame, Smoke) Computer-based desktop production systems (Sun Solaris, SGI Irix, Linux and Unix with language and tools - C, C#, Visual C++, Visual Basic, OpenGL, Java, Adobe Photoshop, DVD Studio, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut and Discreet Logic Cleaner) Linear and non-linear edit systems Network-based systems (Cisco) College degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience AVID/ACSR certificationBONUS SKILLSInternet/Extranet systems, including Microsoft IIS, Proxy Server, SQL Server HP Openview DNS Knowledge of Sun Solaris, SGI Irix, Linux, Macintosh OS and Unix Operating systems Academic certification and experience with Cisco systems Knowledge of Database Management Systems, SQL, Access, XML, and Oracle 9 To Apply to this job go to http://www.GadBall.com or click here
