Description Our client is looking for an Implementation Engineer, responsible for large scale installations and support of the firms product line at multiple sites in the five boroughs, as well as on going support and maintenance of the systems in a MS server environment. Candidates must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation since travel in the Metro NY-NJ area is required. Client will conduct background investigation and reference check. *This is a contract to hire opportunity* Roles and Responsibilities * This position is with a vendor, and previous vendor work experience is desired. * The system is server based, and records activity with both voice and data systems as they occur. * The Field Engineer is responsible for supporting of the customers Voice and Data Systems. * Prepare, configure and install Servers * Install and load required software on the servers. * Conduct Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and obtain approval. * Document site configuration in for future use in upgrades and troubleshooting. * Provide both the client and management team with Status updates throughout the implementation process (working with the Project Manager). * Document action items remaining for both our client and the customer. * Provide post-installation support and service. Requirements * BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree preferred. * A+ is required * MCP, MCSE or similar are a plus * Minimum 3 years implementation experience, through high-level customer support. * Experience working at a various customer locations in a installation and support capacity. * Very strong PC and Server troubleshooting exp. (Win2003 and WinXP) and Microsoft Networking knowledge * Experience working with Windows Server 2k3 – (HP ProLiant DL 380s a plus). * Experience working in a large server environment (greater than 25 servers) * Write simple queries in SQL Server 2K (not just building/backing up SQL servers). * TCP/IP troubleshooting and support. * Hands-on hardware experience: replace hard drives, connect/configure components, working knowledge of CPU, etc. * Recent skills using Network Management platforms (setting up and operational) including; Altiris, Patchlink, McAfee ePO, LANDesk or Cisco Security Agent (CSA). **Must have at least one of the following skills (parallel/ alternative technologies are also acceptable) * SNMP troubleshooting exp is a plus. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * CTI/CDR knowledge (Aspect/Nortel/Lucent) is a plus. * Must have the availability to work outside of a regular 8 hour (8-5) work day.
