Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for an Project Manager on a nine month contract opportunity with a leading company in New York, NY.You must be a U.S. Citizen or a Valid Green Card Holder to be considered for this position.This a W2 contract position through Adecco at a financial company. We cannot hire Corp to Corp or 1099 canidates. One of our top clients is currently pursuing a program to develop and implement the next generation of Editorial production capabilities supporting the thier vision to provide the world's most reliable, accurate and insightful news. Scope of the program will include projects encompassing:1) News production (text, pictures, graphics, and TV)2) Improvements in speed and low latency3) Multimedia production and publishing4) Collaboration across all contributors to news content5) Workflow, automation, packaging and metadata capabilities across media typesThis position of Project Manager will play a key role by providing project management expertise to ensure successful delivery (within time, budget, quality guidelines) of one or more projects under the program.Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Responsible for full life-cycle project management of one or more projects supporting News Editorial Technology.Responsible for all aspects of project management, including, but not limited to:- Project estimation and scheduling- Resource leveling- Impact analysis- Risk assessment and mitigation- Status reporting- Escalation of major issuesResponsible to report status to the News Technology PMO and project leadership team.Responsible for managing consultancy and 3rd party relationships where applicable.Additional Information:Global nature of project team will require flexibility in working hours in order to ensure sufficient interaction across time zones. Some travel may be required.Qualification:Education:A B.S. (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is required.Masters Degree, MBA or equivalent preferredRequired Skills (Must have), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:5 years experienceExperience managing large scale software development and implementation projectsExperience managing large cross functional global project teamsFamiliarity with Agile software development methodologies and User-Centered DesignExperience managing project teams consisting of internal as well as external resources (vendor, consultant, 3rd party)Desired Skills (Nice to have in addition to the Required Skills), Necessary industry Experience & associated number of years of experience:Experience with Financial News or Media Industries.Experience in the production of news content (for example journalism, television, reporting, broadcasting, traditional print and digital media)Experience in the implementation of enterprise Content Management SystemsPMI PMP or PRINCE2 Certified candidates are preferred.
