Skills/Experience needed:- 2-3+ years of experience leading and managing a technical team in a fast-paced, rapid-change startup environment- Strong experience and track record of building and operating large scale Web applications. - Must have expert level skills and ability to set the direction and the technical requirements for the evolution of large online projects. - Experience shaping and executing the functional components that will ensure a solid, scalable, and stable platform. - Experience with Scripting languages such as Perl, Ruby, PHP, Groovy/Grails or Python for Web development - Strong familiarity with software development process and practices: Testing, QA, continuous integration; Documentation - technical/function specifications, Code reviews - Ability to convert business requirements to technical artifacts, with an eye to optimal design, performance, extensibility and scalability What you will be doing!Strategy:- Participate as a member of the senior management team in governance processes of the organization's architecture, networks, programming and media. - Create processes of direction and control to ensure objectives are achieved, risks are managed and our development resources are used responsibly.- Develop and communicate business/technology/product alignment plans to executive team, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.- In partnership with our senior management, identify opportunities and risks for delivering our services as a Web based business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success. Acquisition, Implementation & Deployment:- Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments and purchases as well as develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for technology spending, staffing and initiatives.- Define requirements for new technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders.- Act as a User Experience Designer/Information Architect to prepare wireframes of prototypes of our Web application.- Select and manage company staff or outsourced vendors who will implement a design as Web Pages using industry standards.- Review and approve development releases and manage the release process.- Supervise deployment to staging and production servers, monitor application performance and review any application failures in staging or production.What is offered:- VERY generous level of equity ownership- Ability to work with industry recognized pioneers- Excellent opportunity to drive company direction both technically and from the business perspective.
