Understand business requirements for optimization solutions and perform applied research that will support these requirements.

Develop statistical and optimization algorithms and follow the algorithms through the entire software lifecycle: design, implementation, quality assurance, distribution.

Knowledge and experience with Optimization algorithms: Linear Programming, Quadratic programming, dynamic programming, simulation, etc.

Familiarity with machine learning / statistical learning theory: supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement learning. Model building - model assessment and selection, bias vs. variance tradeoff.

Programming skills: competency in several of the following: perl, java, C/C++, SQL, R/S-plus, SAS, shell scripting

Experience with UNIX/Linux
