At this time we have two openings leaving us in search of software development professionals that has specific experience in GUI development using the Java Swing framework. One position will lead to a permanent offer of employment after a contract period of six months, while the other opening is a long-term contract.
Responsibilities:
Will work in as part of a large development effort (75 people in total), but will work with smaller teams of 3-8 people that will be dedicated toward this user interface effort. Given a UI design and requirements document you will be asked to implement (using Java SWING) a piece of functionality for a variety of online financial applications that service over 500,000 clients.
The successful candidate will be expected to adhere to standards and use an existing UI framework to build a 'feature rich' set of screens, interfacing with server side code that is built by another team member.
There is a great support network of UI developers that work through issues as a team, but this position still requires a strong background in Java Swing.
Experience: BS in Computer Science or related degree
1) At least 5 years of Java experience
2) At least 2 years of recent Java swing experience
3) Good communication skills (independent worker).
4) Knowledge of MVC and other basic design patterns (ie: singleton, etc...)
5) Basics in SQL are definitely helpful
