Job Description
Open system Performance Administrator w ill be responsible for the architecture, implementation, analysis, and reporting for UNIX OS, DB, and Middleware monitoring. The individual will be responsible for product selection, working with vendors to set up demonstrations, conduct product evaluations, and work with various technical groups at FISA (AIX system administration, SAN, Applications, DBA, and Middleware) to configure the products with thresholds and alerts. Individual should be level 1 support and should be able to review performance and alert results and escalate issues to the manager of the appropriate technical group for further analysis. Individual will be responsible for creating weekly performance charts and highlighting trends.
Individual must have prior managerial or project lead experience, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
Qualification Requirements
1. A masters degree in computer science from an accredited college and three years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience using mainframe, mini- or micro-computer technology in computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing, at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or in the supervision of staff performing these duties; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of experience as described in '1" above; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of experience as described in "1" above; or
4. Education and experience equivalent to "1"'2' or "3" above. However, all candidates must have at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and must possess at least three years of experience as described in "1' above, including the 18 months of administrative , managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described in "1" above.
Essential Skills
AIX System Administration experience is required, as is detailed knowledge of either BMC Patrol or Veritas 13. Working knowledge of both is preferred. Capacity planning experience is a plus, as is any familiarity with Mercury Loadrunner.
