Writing/Business Analyst

Location: Albany , NY

Duration: 18 months

The candidate will focus primarily on leading the JAD (Joint Application Development), Documentation Standards, Introducing Best Practices, Business Process Improvements, Project Lead encompassing Maintaining Project Plan, Updating the Project Charter, planning and coordinating the Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Training and Implementation Phases of the project.

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience examining the methods and process of the business flow within a diverse public or private service delivery organization.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying unnecessary steps.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience incorporating value-added steps into a new process through the translation of business practices into terminology and desk products that seamlessly merge computer and microcomputer technology with work process.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience assessing and documenting existing business processes and identifying where improvements can be made or where new processes can be installed.
  • Minimum of three (3) years researching " best practices" of comparable organizations and analyzing the feasibility of installing them where needed.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience developing new methods and procedures, implementation plans and schedules, and written reports.

Desirable Experience Preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Five (5) years demonstrated experience working directly with the customer gathering and analyzing current business processes and recommending alternative processes and solutions. Experience on New YorkState financial rate setting system is preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years demonstrated experience:

· Identifying and documenting business processes, rules, application user requirements and data flows.

· Producing Logical Design documents from which developers can create a technical design.

Experience on New YorkState financial rate setting systems is preferred.

  • Five (5) years experience

· Developing or reviewing test cases

· Conducting or assisting with unit or user acceptance testing

· Communicating bugs to technical staff

Experience on New YorkState financial rate setting is preferred.

  • Four (4) or more years experience working in the child welfare service arena to develop requirements, identify and analyze application problems, and develop workable solutions.
