Location: Schenectady , NY (near Albany, NY)

Mandatory Requirements

Certifications Required:

  • MCDST in Windows 2000 and XP
  • CompTIA A+

Systems Management:

At least 4 years experience with Desktop/Laptop PC Components, peripherals and printers: Installation, troubleshooting and knowledge of deployment methods and support.

Operating environment : Windows NT, 2000 and XP. Ethernet desktop, dial up, wireless LAN and Verizon aircard.

Applications: MS Office 2000, XP & 2003 Professional (Word, Excel, Access), Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2003GHOST, *Cole OrderPad (specialized sales force software-incumbent will be required to learn).

Communications: VPN, TCP/IP, RAS

Help Desk Service: Hands-on support of hardware and software issues.

  • Ability to perform day-to-day operations and repair of supported hardware and software, specifically, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Microsoft applications, IBM and Dell desktop computers, Dell and HP / Compaq laptop computers, Acer and Toshiba tablet PC's as well as various networked Laser printers.
  • Ability to train staff; install new desktop systems, cables; connect WAN and print servers, and troubleshoot errors.
  • Ability to perform day-to-day problem solving at the help desk and act as a resource to the help desk.
  • Occasional travel to NYC, Long Island, Fishkill, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
  • Must be able to solve the problems of the Marketing Representatives while they are on the phone. These remote users are out in the field and cannot be told someone will call them back.
  • Must be able to use Ghost software to update and create desktop, laptop and tablet PC images.
  • Outstanding oral, written and telephone communication skills are a must.
  • Adhere to procedures, maintain records, and demonstrate commitment to solving user problems.
  • Demonstrate a systematic, disciplined, and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to resolve complex technical issues without additional assistance.
