We are currently seeking an individual for our client to fill the following full time role:
An Application Engineer is an individual who is well versed in the understanding of technology. The role requires both broad technical knowledge and the ability to provide solutions to a customer's business problem.
The position requires a demonstrated ability to effectively engage internal and external customers related to the lifecycle of a project and/or task.
Application Engineers are expected to maintain and/or foster effective customer communications.
The Application Engineer must have a successful track record managing assigned deliverables through completion.
Experience: Knowledge Skill Requirements:
A minimum of two years systems engineering experience as demonstrated by a combination of network and systems installation experience and network and systems maintenance experience.
An Application Engineer has a good working knowledge of Operating Systems and data networking products.
Understanding of Windows, Linux, routers, switches, routing protocols, desktop protocols (TCP/IP, IPX, and
Appletalk) and Ethernet is essential.
Application Engineers have a working knowledge of the OSI model. An understanding of TCP/IP is required.
Further, knowledge of three of nine listed concentration areas is also required:
Database systems (SQL), Microsoft
products, Citrix products, Systems Management products, System architecture (Client Server or web based appliance), Cisco LAN Switching Products, Cisco Network Management Products, Cisco Voice products, and Cisco IOS.
