I. Summary of Position Support voice, client/server infrastructure and data communications including office systems, network planning and development, server infrastructure and voice communications for Branch Network and ATM’s. Provide technical leadership to Technology Services operating units through special projects and major projects. Serve as an expert with extensive and specialized technical knowledge in communications, either voice, client server infrastructure or data. Provide team leadership as required. II. Principal Accountabilities 1. Provide technical leadership and consultation to Technology Services and appropriate business units(s). Maintain expert knowledge in specialized systems or in multiple systems. 2. Manage large or critical projects to assure objectives are met on time and within cost. Evaluate performance of project team assigned and reports performance upon project completion to management. 3. Provide technical leadership and consultation to project team members as necessary. Initiates and conducts feasibility studies of new and modified operational procedures. Prepare cost benefit analyses and functional and detail specifications for large systems. Provide direct guidance in planning, designing, programming, documentation and implementation of systems. Perform reviews of new and existing systems to ensure operational integrity and accomplishment of stated objectives. 4. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events. 5. Support the Company’s Diversity programs. 6. Complete other related duties as assigned. 7. Some travel may be required 8. Overtime may be needed as project/workload dictate. Experience: III. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This position requires an individual with: - A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with major or minor in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field and a minimum of seven years telecommunications experience. - Minimum of three years in project management highly desirable. - Specialized experience in communication systems engineering; extensive knowledge of communications systems and data processing hardware capabilities in a communications environment; demonstrated ability to analyze specifications and operating documentation; and recognition as a technical resource within the work group. - Experience administering Server 2003 technologies, including SMS, Active Directory, Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), TCP/IP, and VBScript supporting a Windows XP environment.
