Activities / Responsibilities: Monitoring of business critical batch processing controlled by Autosys. Provide proactive first level support for end user application issues. Undertake Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine origin of problems, for both Batch and Application issues, escalating to second level when the situation requires. Work closely with traders and middle office users to support operation of PPB's risk management, P&L, accounting and settlement systems. Provide development services as necessary to streamline Batch processing. Identify opportunities for process improvement, analyze and define the changes. Evaluate and develop user enhancement requests. Manage enhancement deliverables from idea / specification phase through to deployment. Maintain documentation on all production issues, actions and resolutions in-line with industry best practices. Experience: Candidate Requirments: The ideal candidate: Has a strong IT background Has a keen willingness to develop a career in the Financial Services Industry. Is able to demonstrate a level of understanding and knowledge of the business described here. Has excellent problem solving skills, demonstrates a positive attitude, and thrives in a dynamic business / technical environment that values change. Must be interested in working within a team structure, and be able to adopt a flexible approach to working around the scheduled hours of a standard working day. Essential Skills: Strong / Clear Communication skills UNIX shell scripting Perl scripting SQL, preferably Sybase, and stored procedures Good program / script debugging skills, incl. an ability to pin-point the Root Cause of problems Nice to Haves: Autosys JIL Solaris System Administration Database design and/or Database Administration HTML & JSP Excel & VBA Java, J2EE, XML & JSP Good financial instrument knowledge and buy-side investment management experience.
