BASIC FUNCTION:As part of M&T‘s Float Management department, the Project Analyst III would participate in the gathering and analysis of information related to check processing operations.RESPONSIBILITIES:The Project Analyst III would analyze information, determine feasible solutions, and make recommendations regarding check clearing and funds availability. Develop system specifications, test plans, test scripts, and performs system testing. Acts in a liaison capacity with other financial institutions and vendors to develop business relationships and resolve problems. Develops a thorough understanding of the business being supported and its functions, processes, and regulations. Maintains a good functional understanding of the supported applications. Uses various bank systems and Microsoft Excel to analyze data and prepare proposals for management review. Provides consultation services to internal customers on basic to intricate functions of check processing. This includes performing research, analysis, problem resolution, and following-up with recommendations. Supports various projects and check image initiatives as required. Performs other related duties as required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of two to four years college with at least four years experience in an analytical or operational support environment. Strong analytical, verbal and written skills. Time management and organization skills. Detail oriented, self-motivated. Strong Excel skills (macro/pivot table exp)Able to work effectively with client personnel in various organizational positions. Quickly grasps new conceptsIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors or Masters Business Degree. Two to four years banking experience. Ad-hoc reporting experienceKnowledge of both Mainframe and Access a plusDemonstrates a good understanding of the business area’s functions and operational environment. Possesses a broad understanding of the Bank and of the business unit’s role and how they fit into the organization.
