This includes: * provide daily maintenance and repair of equipment * monitor consumption of supplies, secure hardware and software on a daily basis * research specifications for hardware/software purchases and prepare vendor requisitions * assist faculty and students in course-related technologies * provide classroom assistance to instructors of media/new media classes * reinforce student learning of concepts and technologies taught in media/new media classes during classes and open lab time * supervise interns and part-time technical support personnel * maintain Media Studies and New Media websites * provide technical support for Media Studies/New Media faculty offering instruction or workshops for students * troubleshoot and address a wide-range of audio/video and computer-related issues, including, but not limited to computer/printer/software/web and video server configuration problems * maintain close working relationships with faculty, students, college personnel, and outside vendors as appropriate * perform other related duties as assigned by the program directorQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Requirements: Must be a high school graduate and possess one of the following additional qualifications: (a) four years of work or experience appropriate to the requirements of the department at a level of competence comparable to that indicated by apprenticeship in a trade; OR (b) an associate degree and a minimum of two years experience of the type above; OR (c) a bachelor's degree in an area appropriate to the duties to be performed; OR (d) an appropriate combination of at least four years of education and work experience beyond high school. Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate should have an understanding of concepts and tools of studio and remote video production, including cinematography/videography, editing, and TV production, as well as concepts and tools of web design and development. The successful candidate should have knowledge of xHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and video/audio formats. Experience in the use of Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro Suite, the iLife Suite, and Movie Magic or other screenwriting software is required. Knowledge of Flash, PHP or Coldfusion, MySQL, and web server technologies (IIS and Apache) is also desired. Experience in the maintenance and support of Macintosh OOSX, Windows XP/2000/2003/Vista, and UNIX/Linux operating systems. Experience or academic/professional courses in the maintenance of TV/video studios also required. Should posses strong communication skills and evidence of working well with others.
