Title: Monitoring Engineer Location: Albany, NY Position: Full-time, 2nd shift (4pm-Midnight, Monday-Friday) Salary: 35-40K Job Summary This is an entry level position for someone with strong customer service skills and an understanding of Cisco products. This position will start off and be in the monitoring role for 18-24 months and then move into a network admin/engineer role. A Monitoring Engineer is an individual who is versed in the understanding of networking, wireless and unified communication technologies. The role requires the ability to evaluate alerts generated by our customer monitoring tools and mange the resolution of those alerts. The position requires a demonstrated ability of commonly - used concepts, practices, and procedures within IP LAN and WAN networks. Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements: • A minimum of one year experience in the implementation and/or maintenance of converged networks utilizing Cisco products. • Hands on knowledge and experience configuring and maintaining of Cisco Unified Communications systems is preferred. • Experience/education in most of the products that we install. • Can support router configurations and is versed in Layer 2 & 3 switch configurations. • Can support technology products in the areas of Network Infrastructure (Core & Remote) switches and routers, Firewall/VPN Security, and Wireless systems. • Manage and track customer issues utilizing Help Desk Trouble Reporting Systems (EHD and ConnectWise). • Cisco CCNA is preferred. • Strong verbal, written communication and customer facing skills are mandatory.
