Shadow Direct Software Design Engineer in New York, NY

Our client is a long-established, Fortune 100, comprehensive insurance provider seeking a contract Software Engineer to work in their Middleware Infrastructure group. The position requires engineering and architecture design for projects using Shadow Direct Z/Services for Business Logic and Screens on the Mainframe. The engineer must evaluate and analyze business requirements and engineer solutions based on the appropriate middleware technology. The engineer will initially be responsible for the installation and performance tuning of Shadow Direct Z/Services for the Business Logic and Screens and tuning mainframe infrastructure components. The position requires systems programming skills on the mainframe including Z/OS, CICS and IDMS and skills on the mid tier Solaris and Java.
